Excessive keydown event usage

At the moment there is keydown eventlistener for document.body.
Windy uses arrow keys and zoom keys with this eventlistener, but other keys are mostly ignored.
This makes impossible to change tabs using CTRL + number keys or using CTRL + F.
Both API v4 and Windy.com is affected.
Is it possible to not use preventDefault() for all keycodes or only use preventDefault() when windy div is focussed (tabindex)?

The API should not listen to key events at all in my opinion
