      Could you make clear please, what for data are used in map of sea currents? As I understood that is no forecast, right?
      How often is update of currents infromation?

          As explain on the screenshot shown by @Gkikas-LGPZ, the speed and direction of sea currents on shoreline are « influenced by shape of shoreline, sea bottom and wind » .... BUT MAINLY BY TIDES ! (where tides are discernible)
          So up to 10 NM from sea shore this map has very low interest, and in any case no interest for navigation as beyond this distance you have no chance to be linked to Internet, excepted if you own an expensive satellite broadband equipment.
