You advertise that Windy now includes radar and lightning layers but this is not active over a South Africa. When are you going to activate this.??
I only see northern hemisphere layers for this.
Disappointing.

@harksmith Windy can only use weather radar data that is freely available from government agencies. Unfortunately, very few weather agencies offer open data services, which is why Windy only covers a few countries with radar.

@harksmith: The answers of Windy here don't apply to the lightning data. This data is gathered by volunteers with self-made lightning detectors. On the African continent several additional detectors are needed for a better coverage. You can read more about that on Blitzortung.org: http://www.blitzortung.org/cover_your_area.php
The real time lightning data is currently grabbed without permission from the Blitzortung.org website.
