Hurricane Willa was in October 2018. If you remember to have seen it on TV, you have an excellent memory !

Another side-by-side animations - one from windy.com, the other from NOAA - on some Hawaii weather site https://www.staradvertiser.com/hawaii-weather/.
As one can see on screenshot, even if windy itself is free of adds, other media use windy maps on their own full of adds web pages...

I have seen windy a good bit on local news in the US. In particular during Hurricane season.

Yet another weather web site ("Friendly Forecast", they say), full of ads, where almost all weather maps are picked from windy.com: https://www.friendlyforecast.com/AU/New-South-Wales/Kempsey/Moparrabah/Marine/.
Should they maybe pay a fee to Windy.com? :o)))

Not exactly "local TV channel", but nice display of Windy.com from Gitana Team trying to break the record sailing around the world.

Not a TV channel, but yet another web site which just displays Windy maps (with ads of course to get some money): https://www.meteocontact.fr/previsions/france/rafales-vent
