Hi, here you find some information and data sources about wildfires over the world.

I must rectify, it’s not only wilfires but also « industrial » fires. You can see fires in the middle of North Sea, which obviously are linked to oil or gas extraction (gas flaring)

@idefix37 Ok. I inspected some data and it looks promising. From my first sight it seems like point data, containing some "brightness" value. It is captured by satellites which means global coverage, only drawback I see is potential occlusion by clouds.

There are different satellites providing data on fires. Some use visible bands and other use infrared and visible bands.

                  https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2018/nasa-covers-wildfires-from-many-sources

MODIS and VIIRS satellites seems to use thermal band independently from cloud cover.

Hmm we can implement it as a POIs on backend. Seems like 2 days work.

Should be a good idea to have the CO concentration and Fire both on same map

Hi @Aries-Mars , just in case you haven't noticed yet, these are some new projects and improvements on Windy:

                        1. Windy started to display the so called CAP Alerts as a new (still kind of experimental) overlay "Weather warnings". You can also find fires on it.

                        2. Now you can extend the functionality of Windy by developing your own Windy Plugin. This way you can build all the features that you were missing on Windy.

                        Best wishes
                        ~ Marie
