Air sounding, sounding forecast or skew diagram is here (there is plenty of names for it). So far we support only ecmwf but other models will be supported too. Just click with right mouse button on a map and use link in context menu (long tap on mobile will do).

Developed by our soaring pilot & programmer @TZ so enjoy. And BTW works on mobile device too.

        Excellent tool !
It gives also the model altitude compared to the real altitude of the location and an easy way to know the altitude of 0°C in free atmosphere. That’s fine !

          Fantastic!
Now, with this diagram, windy became a totally professional meteo. application.

This is really good. Could you also include actual readings as well. I'm sure you can get the data from airport weather stations.

Great idea - but http://www.xcmeteo.net has been a much better display for some years (for paragliders), although unfortunately it comes from the GFS.
Paragliders and other non-powered airplane pilots are mainly interested in how powerful the thermal will be, what will be available and where the cloud base will be - and it is hard to recognize from your charts. They need to see the chart in detail up to a maximum of 4000 - 5000 m. What temperature and wind will the 13,000 m be likely to be interested in transport aircraft pilots.

Maybe there could be 2 versions of the chart up to 13000 m and 5000 m ...

Sounding is a diagram that shows the vertical distribution
of temperature, humidity and wind into the atmosphere.
Usually the observations are made by radiosondes
(instruments carried into the atmosphere by a weather balloon).

Weather models can give us forecast data of the same parameters
so we can prepare "forecast soundings".

Soundings are used by (glider) pilots to know thermals, winds aloft, icing forecast etc
and by meteorologists (and weather enthusiasts) for rain/snow forecast,
fog forecasting, turbulence, cloud bases/tops, thunderstorms etc

How do I open it? I can't seem to find it....
By the way, Airgram seems to be much faster now, great job!

                                        Yes!
                                        Pilots expect turbulence/icing forecasts,
farmers, soil temp. at varius depths and soil trafficability
                                        mariners, sea/lake ice cover,
fighter pilots, absolute humidity (for targeting with IR weapons)
                                        people with allergies, pollen forecasts
                                        etc etc :-)
