      Hi. I found the parameter of Wind speed and Wind Gust. What is the difference? and how to calculate wind gust..

          And the Wind is averaged over how long time?

            Wind is the averaged speed usually over 10 minutes but in USA and in aviation it can be over 2 minutes. I guess the weather model of ECMWF is calibrated over 10 minutes. This is partly the reason why Wind on Windy is different from the 1-minute winds predicted by NHC for hurricanes.
