      Good day, I would like to know what does the unit I/km2 mean when thunderstorms are displayed and what indictations it gives about the severity of the thunderstorm. As an airline pilot this thing is important to me. Thank you for the help.

        Thunderstorms: Defined as a number of lighting flashes in the area of one square kilometer, in one day.

        Personaly speaking, I use it as an "light-moderate-heavy" indication
        rather than arithmetic values.
