Storm to drop disruptive, accumulating snow across central US into late week
-
With cold air diving southward through the Plains, snow will fall across the country's midsection before week's end.
Severe weather earlier in the week opened the door for waves of cold, Canadian air to infiltrate the Plains.
With that cold now in place, storms emerging from the Rockies will present the opportunity for snow.
A storm that originated in the Pacific Northwest earlier this week will dive down through the Rockies and track along the jet stream from southern Wyoming and northeastern Colorado late on Wednesday.
