Here’s a reminder that hurricane season isn’t quite over: New storm brewing in Atlantic!
-
We know many of you have unboxed the Christmas lights and thoughts of facing your -loving nephew over Thanksgiving dinner has you dreading the holiday season. But keep this in your thoughts, too: it’s still hurricane season.
The National Hurricane Center has plopped an “X” on the map and a cone that shows a disturbance out in the Atlantic that, if you extrapolate the cone way, way outward, takes it on a path toward Florida. But don’t do that. It’s far too early and it’ll only frighten the dog.
Here’s what we know now: “A tropical wave located several hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles is producing organizing showers and thunderstorms,” the hurricane center said in its 7 a.m. Saturday advisory.
This is the important part: “Development of this system is expected during the next couple of days due to favorable environmental conditions. Some subtropical or tropical development is possible around the middle of next week when the system moves near or to the north of the Greater Antilles.”
The hurricane center gives the chance of this wave developing over the next two days a near 50 percent chance. Formation chance over the next five days, into Thursday, is still High at 90 percent.
Hurricane season officially ends Nov. 30.
On the off chance that this storm does develop into something, it would be named Patty.

it appears this can form but this wont be major though.I doubt this could be sandy like.
Models are taking this to go into the atlantic one takes it into the gulf .This likely might become Tropical Storm Patty. We will have to find out what happens to this.
-
Most likely will be patty but a cold front is expected to carry it out to sea

National Hurricane Center
Yes, good reminder. And nice to see it being tracked in Windy too of course:
-
This system now has a 50% chance for the 2 days so this very possibly will become patty. All though Arctic Blast is in the South US And East US so That Very likely will push this system into the east.
Might need to watch this and this hurricane season has been quite active hasn't it?
-
In the Beginning, it was so quiet and as time went on like late July early September, everything went wild. and The most Devastating storm Hurricane Michael. All prayers went out to them. And did Hurricane Michael's Name get retired?
-
Well it probably is but it might be retired April of next year
-
There's now 20% of Chance Formation. I doubt the storm will form.
