@mhaberler I loaded the windy-plugin-airspaces plugin but I am not seeing any airspace depictions. I looked through all the layers and did not find an airspace layer available. I shutdown and restarted Windy but that did not yield anything new. I also looked at https://github.com/rittels/wndy but it shows nothing in that location. Is the plugin still available?
-
Hi. tested it now and works.
windy-plugins-airspaces
Wait for plugin to load, then close left pane.
Right click screen (or longpress) for context menu.
Click airspaces.
In left pane a list of airspaces should appear.
Click to show country airspace.
You can open a number of countries, but too many will slow down plugin. -
Hi,
Following up on your airspaces plugin.....
- do you have access to upper level airways and waypoints (see https://skyvector.com/) as a vector layer?, and
- could this be added to the "plugin list" as an overlay which sits on top of the weather display layers, like the airspaces layer?
AND.....if both 1) & 2) can be accommodated, could an option be included where a flight route can be typed (pasted) into a text window using both/or airways & waypoints which then provides a flight route as an overlay layer.
This would be highly welcomed among my Aviation Flight Planning colleagues :)
Thx

hi @stitch
"could an option be included where a flight route can be typed (pasted) into a text window using both/or airways & waypoints which then provides a flight route as an overlay layer:"
windy-plugin-fp : flight planner where you can either plot a route, or upload in gpx format. It also contains the airspaces plugin.

No, any suggestions would be welcome.
openaip.net also has navAid data. Could add this.
-
thx....I'll take a look at "fp"

- Visit https://www.windy.com/plugins
- Name of the npm package: type in "windy-plugins-airspaces"
- Click "Load plugin"
It says "Wrong name of your plugin"

@rittels OK good. (The textbox should make similar suggestions to what the user types in.)
OK, but after loading the plugin... one finds it doesn't have the user's air space in the first place. So maybe on a future "plugin web store" page, have a list of air spaces already implemented, so the user can "know before installing."
-
OK. Now I would like to deinstall it. But cannot find any way.
-
Just point browser to windy.com. Plugin will be gone.
I only translated the airspaces provided by openaip.net. Which country u looking for?
-
VERY GOOD!
-
@rittels Taiwan R.O.C.

@rittels, Saw that there was a missing an airspace.
I wanted to see if I could contribute it to your dataset but noticed that the GitHub project for this is empty. The airspace I wanted to add a regional airport that is pretty popular. I found it odd that it was missing.
Does your dataset contain 100% of airport spaces in the US? If not, approximately what percent?
What time/date is your dataset based on (how recent is it) Does you dataset update frequently? -
@araneda @rittels
disregard. I see you are using http://openaip.net/ community driven data. -
Hi. You should be able to update the openaip data. (Haven't tried it myself). Let me know if you've done it, then will refresh the openaip data used for Windy.
