Here in Windy, we believe, that people should have access to the best weather information available. It can save their life.
And yes, we do so.
We operate Windy.com that is accurate, fast, free, and has been running since 2014 without any restrictions or advertising. We also pay for the most expensive forecast data available, just to give them away for free. We do all this because we believe that it's a good thing. Our spirit is fuelled only by dozens of emails such as “Windy saved my life” that we receive from time to time.
And yes, we do so.
We save human lives.
What began as a small hobby project for my kiting friends, has grown into a service that helps millions of users all over the world. However, it has also become a small company that has its employees, offices, and needs to pay bills.
And yes, we do so.
And our spirit is fuelled by the fact that people really appreciate how Windy is fast, accurate and without advertisements. Because we believe that this is a good thing.
But in order to continue our mission, we need your help.
Please imagine yourself, how many times you have used Windy. How many times Windy has helped you. Imagine how many decisions you have made based on forecasts from Windy.
In order to preserve Windy as it is now, and to make it even better, we need your donation.
Donation is available in our iOS or Android apps as appInPurchase or on your desktop, where you can use PayPal, credit card or Amazon Pay. Please consider monthly based donation, that can help us better to plan our cash flow.

Just saw your post, I really understand why you said so. I have some suggestions about windy, because I am very busy now, I will send it to you later, I hope these suggestions can help you. There is a saying in China that "修合无人见，存心有天知" It means that although no one sees it, God can see it. Thank you for your work, returning letters and communicating.

A small suggestion:
The "donation symbol" is not a wise decision.
You use the same symbol for "fullscreen mode".
I think those symbols are better

I recently made a donation to you via an in-app purchase and was a bit surprised to see taxes applied to my donation. In the future is there another way to proceed? I'm not interested in making donations to my provincial and federal governments since I am already supporting them via other taxes.
