Ivo's letter: Please donate to keep us going

Could you please be so kind to open a SEPA (Single European Payments Area) account? It is manageable in CZ Republic. Thank you very much in advance.
-
The SEPA account is required because I want to donate and I need a form of recept.
Could you please create this form of payment via SEPA transfer?
Thank you very much in advance. -

@ivo As blue water sailors we use this app almost daily. There is nothing better, neither from official services nor private. That's why we are happy to make a donation. Best regards SV Rodspaetten. And I asked the editorial staff of "Zeilen" and the magazine "die Yacht" to also publish an appeal for donations in their magazines. The same applies to the blog of Windpilot.com, where such a call will be published soon. Windy is the most popular app among the blue water sailors and is appreciated as the best app. Thomas@ms-escape.ch or www.ms-escape.ch

I love your site, but the donation procedure doesn't seem to work on a pc, does it? Very complicated and puzzling, I gave up. Sorry.
-
I would also like to make a donation with Bitcoin or other crypto, but I can't see any BTC, BCH or other addresses at the end of the page linked to above.
-
Hi @rossigee, we don't support crypto at this moment. If you like to donate, please choose paypal, credit card or wire transfer.
-
Moin Ivo, I would like to give a monthly donation to support your Windy-Development, but I donĀ“t use creditcards. How can I donate? Kind Regards Chrischan
-
Hi @sailclassic, the monthly subscriptions are not available anymore. If you would like to donate, we will appreciate your one-time donation. Next to credit card you can use PayPal or a wire transfer.

If you have what in UK is called 'charitable status' you could set up a Just Giving (https://www.justgiving.com/) facility so that people can raise money for you by sponsorship (it is fun and makes the sponsoring idea very much easier, even though they do take a cut). I am about to do this for the RNLI in the UK. I would do it for you if you had this facility.
-
@Clearphish In the UK we have what is called Gift Aid. If you are donating to an organisation with Charitable Status, you can claim Gift Aid (you have to declare your residency address) and the charity then gets the tax back (https://www.gov.uk/donating-to-charity/gift-aid). I don't know if Windy is operating as a charity (see other post from this morning about Just Giving) but if they were this might apply.

Please tell me how to donate, as I am very bad at data, computers & etc. generally. Also, what monetary unit is the Kc which you name on your donation example? I live in Norway, and must pay with Norwegian Kroner.
-
Hi great weather very accurate: Now I can only donate a certain amount there is no option to do so or am I missing something ? I would like to donate a different amount is there a way to do that?

@Clearphish, yes, I too had a question about taxes. I'm in the United States and haven't had taxes added to a donation before. I'm thinking that this is not like a local, sales tax. Where does the collected tax money go?
-
Hi @afurley, thank you for your offer, however we are a for-profit company. Therefore donations are not considered as a "gift" but as a regular "product" which is taxed.
-
Hi @JeffreyClear, you can donate via www.windy.com/donate where the currency is EUR.
-
Hi @Norm_Shea, the donation is not considered as a gift but as a regular product, since we are a for-profit company. Therefore taxes need to be applied.
-
Hi @Dkat, I wrote you an email.
-
@Simona-Polackova, thanks for the reply, but I'm still unclear about the taxes. The tax rate for online sales in South Carolina is 6.00% but the rate on the donation is 7.50%.
