Dec 15 at 11am local time. Springbank airport CYBW. Wind speed on windy says 6 knots. Metar says 22 gusting 32. The windsock is fully erect and looks like it's about to blow away. The building I'm in is shaking. How can windy be saying 6 knots when the wind is currently 4 times stronger?

Windy only visualizes the predictions of numerical weather models. Which model did you watch?
Here is the comparison between Reported wind at Springbank airport and the NAM forecasts. This does not seem so bad, 23kt forecast for 21.4kt reported but with a time shift of 48 minutes.

ECMWF is weaker with 17kt and GFS worse with 12kt.
So try which is the best model for your area.
