Is "Rain accumulation" only rainfall or rainfall+snowfall ?

rain+snow (water equivalent).

This season (winter), forecast maps show rain acc. amounts over Greenland and Spitsbergen
and this is not rain!
So, the rain acc. map includes snow!

Maybe it is better to use the word "Total precipitation accumulation" instead.
