Would you like to report your weather station data to Windy? (depreciated)
-
Sure
It a 5 in1 acurite weather station
Yes, I report to weather underground
I use an acurite hub and an access hub to transmit the data from the weather station -
- Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus
- Weather Underground, CWOP, and many others
- Meteobridge
- Yes, I'm willing to allow anyone to use my weather data.
-
- netatmo
- netatmo weathermap
- wifi
-
-
What type of weather station do you have?
Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus (wireless) -
Do you report your data to some other Internet website?
AWEKAS, CWOP, METOFFICE, WEATHERCLOUD and PWS and local-weather.me
- How do you technically send your reports to this other website? Which software or protocol do you use?
Software for MAC-Weathercat current version 3.0.4 build 91
- Do you have any tips and ideas on how our API reporting should look like?
5 day, 10 day weather forecasting at minimum
- Would you be willing to offer your station data to anyone else (not only windy.com) as open data?
Depends. I have killed off WU after 12 years due to their incompetence and subterfuge regarding weather reporting and API use. I am not interested
in sharing information with companies who refuse to offer minimum services in exchange.JJM

My name is Radoslav, my PWS WH 2080 is located in Vyškov, Czech Republic. The data is processed by WeeWX on its own server and displayed on http://www.pocasi-kucerov.cz/weewx/sofa/
The data are further reported on WU, AWEKAS, WOW Metoffice and PWSWeather. WeeWX also creates "realtime.txt" (Cummulus SW) and "gauge-data.txt" (SteelSeries Gauges) every minute, and these are available immediately.
WeeWX contains several uploaders, others can be easily added (more than 20 - see https://github.com/weewx/weewx/wiki).
The author of the SW is very helpful and I think that if you turn to him (http://www.weewx.com/), he likes to create another for Windy according to your requirements.
Of course I agree with the sharing of my PWS data.
If you are interested, contact me. -
@ivo I don’t know of they count, but we have a Netatmo personal weather station. The data is uploaded automatically via the Netatmo website/module. It’s already open and we are willing to share it.
Helpful? -
I have just had confirmation from Netatmo that their partnership with Wunderground has ended. I'm not sure when this happened but I don't think it lasted very long. Maybe it would be worthwhile for Windy to approach Netatmo?
I use Meteoware Plus to distribute my Netatmo weather data to Wunderground, WOW Met Office, and PWSWeather.
I have just installed the wordpress Weather Station plugin on my website but really don't know how to use it yet and the options don't seem to work very well.

- Froggit hp 1000
- Yes, I report all my data to Wunderground.
- I use an internet connection, the Wunderground service sends you a key. This key is putted in the monitor of the weather station. This monitor shows you the information and sends the data to Wunderground using that key. I dont know which protocol uses.
- I think the realtime display is very usefull for some users and you can save some data like 4-5 days ago. You may add menus for the different categories like: wind, rain, solar radation, etc; and a combo menu that combines all menus in one.
- Yes. I want to help your project with my weather data.
-
1.) Davis Vantage Pro2
2.) uploading to wunderground for several years but 12/2018 my station went off their map and they will not respond to emails; looking for a new home
3.) Currently only FTP to personal weather page
4.) It's all good
5.) Sure; it's weather; it should be free -
Thank you for all your input. We have started to develop Windy Stations website and we are looking forward for your stations data.
Any comments regarding this matters please to this thread

Columbia Weather Systems Orion LX - Do you report your data to some other Internet website?
Used to send it to Wunderground, but IBM & WeatherChannel have ruined the site. - How do you technically send your reports to this other website? Which software or protocol do you use?
Columbia Weather Systems Micro Server - Do you have any tips and ideas on how our API reporting should look like?
Just make the API free. Don't get too cute and kill the performance. - Would you be willing to offer your station data to anyone else (not only windy.com) as open data? Yes, as long as they aren't using it as a revenue source.

@Plankies ditto!! Same gear.. wunderground..

- Holfuy
- Windguru
- PWS does so automatically via wifi
- No
- Yes

- Netatmo Weather Station, with the termo/igro sensor inside a Davis 7714 radiation shield. My station respect OMM urban type rules.
- Yes: https://www.stintup.com/stazione-meteo-padova-arcella/ and https://www.wunderground.com/weather/it/padua/IPADUA22
- Netatmo API and/or MeteoWare Plus
- Like Wunderground or Meteonetwork
- Yes
-
- I have a Davis Vantage Pro 2
- I report my data to Wunderground.
- I upload it via my Davis weatherlink software.
- Wunderground reporting looks fine. Would like it to show all data, temp, wind speed, direction, barometer, rain, humidity.
- Yes I would let anyone use my data. NOAA also gets my data through the weather observer program.

@sbl001 said in Would you like to report your weather station data to Windy?:
Hi - I have 2 Netatmo weather stations. I am perfectly happy to give the data to Windy and also that Windy shares the data.....after all, the more inputs we have to global weather, the better that forecasting will become.
I tried to log on to Weather Underground to share my data but they will not accept Netatmo data for some arcane reason
Hi, you should try with MeteoWare Plus.

@mewindy Hey Brian! I can certainly vouch for Brian as a great person to work with. He certainly knows his stuff, and there are many, many people using his software with their weather stations. Brian's software already has the capability of uploading data to multiple sites using a variety of data formats transparently. I would think that a format that is currently being used would be better than trying to reinvent the wheel and would speed development time.
The other option, is to pull MADIS data. Many with PWS's that are uploading CWOP data, show up in the MADIS data as well. It's really going to depend on the bandwidth you have available, as tens of thousands of personal weather stations constantly uploading data can chew up what bandwidth you have.

Hi guys, the dev process has been started.
Soon we will have API endpoints. We will enable to upload via WU protocol to achieve maximum compatibility
As soon as API endpoints will be ready we will be happy to have them integrated in uploading software and bridges

Hi,
My name is Giorgio Ciacchella and I am located in Genoa, Italy.
I own a DIY personal weather station which is currently still under development, but I am trying to make it upload its data to as many websites as possible. Finding a good website that easily allows custom DIY weather stations to upload data via HTTP calls by providing the API documentation is hard, so I really hope this project will see the light.1 My weather station is built on the Arduino-based microcontroller Particle Photon, along with the Sparkfun Weather Shield, Weather Meters, Sunny Buddy ad a 3.5W solar panel.
It runs on the Particle programming language, a close variation of C++.
2 I currently only upload data to Weather Underground [ x ]; I am trying to include other websites such as Weather Cloud and Open Weather Map, but WU is the only one that works at the moment. Hence my necessity to find other websites like the promising windy!
3 Running on C++ based source code, my weather station uses HTTP GET (and possibly POST) calls through a TCP client to upload its data.
4 In my opinion, a good API should be simple and have no ambiguities. It should also be easy to understand and to include in the source code of the weather station, have a tidy but flexible upload protocol structure and return useful responses.
5 Of course! My purpose is to get as much coverage as possible, in order to make my weather data easily and widely accessible, and so useful. -
- Davis Vantage Pro2 with WeatherLinkIP Data Logger for Vantage Stations
- Yes, to: www.weatherlink.com that is provided free by Davis with the IP Data Logger. 15 minutes upload interval free.
- Yes www.weatherlink.com offer interface to Wunderground, CWOP and GLOBE. They also offer an API. That would be asome to connect to windy
- https://www.weatherlink.com/static/docs/APIdocumentation.pdf
- Sure, if we can get graph, stat and etc. If we can have faster upload interval that would be so cool.
Thank s for your work guy's
