      For user defined color is not possible choose color for text. With white background is not possible read text (city name and value).

        Yes, pure white cannot be used or details below are not easy to read. That's why I do not exceed RGB 200,200,200. It is a very light grey that you can mix with your blue.

            Agree. If you stop using bright shades the dynamic range and detail level of the overlay suffers badly (and it looks drab). A text color that subtly auto-adjusts to the overlay's background colour is what's needed.
