Recording data to replay it when offline.

Hello,
When sailing far from the coasts for a few days (i.e. without internet connection), I like to be able to check again the weather (wind, waves, etc), even if the data are not up to date. What about adding a recording/caching/replaying functionality? For now, I make screen dump, but I would love to have such features in the apps.

But I agree with you, keeping in cache 5 or 6 days forecast on a limited area would be good solution. I doubt it would be a problem with the licence agreement... (On the other hand, I understand that dispatching GRIB files may be a licence problem)
I use to make a video of the screen when the time slider is moving (this feature is available on iPad). So it keeps all details, step by step, and when viewing it later, you can stop it when you want. But all devices do not offer this possibility. Or you need to download e screen recorder. -

Good idea to use a 'Screen Recorder' type of software or app. These are available for most devices now.
Maybe Windy could add this as a feature, or would this be considered breaking the licence too?

Yes you are right. I see many « Screen recorder » app. May be this kind of app could be added as a plugin?
During the recording you can move the map to follow your planned route and/or move the weather picker according to this route. -
Offline will be very helpful, like a Paraglider like me, when you go somewhere there is no network,. Offline can help navigating decision,.
