    Tutorial: How to set up your start-up location

      When using Windy you might want to start on a specific location each time when you open the app (works only if you are logged in).

      There are several parametres you may choose from

      Start-up location determined by IP
      Using GPS
      Choosing from locations saved as your favorites

      Desktop

      Just click on Menu, choose Settings and look for Start-up location accompanied by "house" icon. Then choose the way you prefer from drop-down list.

        @Simona-Polackova this is SO inadequate! How do I choose a new startup location?

          @djones_weather Hi, this is 5 years old article and our UI is changed since 2019. To set the startup location, tap on the menu button, then settings and there is a Start-up layer and location option at the bottom.

            @Suty thanks Suty. I just subscribed to Premium and I am so disappointed in the product I would like to cancel my subscription and get a refund. Can you help?

                @Suty Thanks for responding. I am a professional meteorologist and I've tried to get the attention of the good folks at Windy several times. I decided to subscribe to see if the site had become more suitable for weather professionals. I quickly discovered it has not. I thought I might use it for my daily weather videos for hardcore skiers, riders and sledders at Whistler. In the end, the functionality is so limited and so unsuitable for pros that I'm requesting a refund.

                It is a shame because I see enormous potential in the site. David.
