Model altitude
-
Hello, I like windy but cannot find the model orography (model terrain elevation) in the meteograms. It is important, because model reprezentation of orography differs from the actual one, sometimes considerably. Am I missing something?

You have the possibility to get the model altitude for a location when you choose Sounding. Click on mouse right button.In this example, there is a big difference between the location altitude (571m) and the model altitude (1045m). This means that temperature, snowfall ... will be wrong for this place.
Unfortunately, this information is only available for ECMWF model. So, I agree with you, it should necessary to have this information for all models, in the Meteogram, because it’s important in mountains.
To get a better forecast, I use to find a near location with the same altitude and a right model altitude, then put it in my Favorites with a new name. But that’s not possible everywhere. -

@Gkikas-LGPZ
Exactly, that should be useful, for each model. -
@idefix37
I've suggested that 2 years ago

@Gkikas-LGPZ
I remember because it’s one of my concerns about high-altitude weather forecasts, but your suggestion was not taken into account -

@TomSlavkovsky
I would like to raise the matter of showing model's altitude into meteograms
as I proposed here

I strongly support your request
