3D mode should be the default

In fact I think 2D mode should be the mode that is removed and made obsolete! With 3D mode when you zoom into an area of interest the surface of the earth becomes almost 2d anyway and no matter what part of the globe you are viewing you will not be seeing distorted wind speed animations for example.
