Report your Weather Station Data to Windy
-
@korina I do have a weather website running weather station 3 but don't think that supports sending data to Windy. Maybe you can add support like you have for Netatmo stations? It looks like the data is open https://weatherflow.github.io/Tempest/api/
-
@markdj Hello, in order to send data to use, you will need one of the mentioned softwares. We may add support in the future.

@korina
I am one of the many like Markdj with a Weatherflow Tempest Station.
and am looking to do the same.Cheers

Hi - I'm trying to post our weather data to Windy. I think I'm doing everything right - I am getting a 'SUCCESS (valid measurements count: 4, valid station info count: 3)' when I post.
That stated, I cannot see the data in Windy...
The station id is 'f076de17'
I have confirmed the the Open, Windy only, Private setting is set to 'Public'.Please help!
thanks,
kk -
@kurtk For some reason, it seems to be working now! I'm not sure what changed...
-
@kurtk Hello, glad to hear it. It may take some time till the station shows on Windy.
-
@kurtk So Now it is not showing up again. Can someone at Windy look at the dat that I'm posting? This is the response that I get:
WX to Windy: PARTIAL SUCCESS (valid measurements count: 4, valid station info count: 3)
invalid measurement values: 'temp': none;
(I understand the temperature error, that is not the problem).
None of the rest of the measurement data shows up, but the station data does.
please help!
Thanks,
Kurt -
@kurtk Hello, according to our database, latest observation you sent is from Monday 11. Please check the internet connect and format of data that you should be sending here - https://community.windy.com/topic/8168/report-your-weather-station-data-to-windy
-
@korina Hello Korina -
The format described in the post that you referenced is exactly what I (think) I'm doing. Please se my post for the http: response to my request. It shows success. The geocoordinates update with each post (correctly) as my station is moving (on an autonomous vessel) through the ocean.
Can you see the transaction being received in you logs? My script runs every six minutes on the minute (:06, :16, :26, :36, :46, :56).
please let me know.
Thanks!

@korina Hi Korina
My data is still not sowing up.
AND now I get this error when I try and view the station:
"Error loading or rendering station data"
Please help.
Thanks!

@kurtk Hi, our development team will look into this, the issue is probably on our side.
-
@korina Thank you! My system should be posting correctly formatted data every 10 minutes.
kk -
@korina Hello - Any update to this? My team keeps asking where our data is...
Thanks!

I'm using a Bresser 5 in 1 Wi-Fi station (https://www.bresseruk.com/Weatherstations/BRESSER-WIFI-color-weather-center-with-5in1-profi-sensor.html) and uploading data to Wunderground and Weathercloud. I'd like to upload data to windy too but I am an absolute 'newbie' to this and was hoping for some assistance.
-
- Is my device capable of uploading data to Windy? I have an API key in my Wunderground profile which makes me think I should be able to share it's data? I am not using any additional software.
-
- Is there a step by step guide? Fore example, how do get my data from wunderground/weathercloud over to windy?
I have created a station at stations.windy.com (ID: f0727b07) but have absolutely no idea what I need to do with this now it's created?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@kurtk Magically, ours started working today! We have done nothing different in the last two weeks. I wish that the Windy folks would let us know what happened. We spent many hours trying to sort this out. Now it appears that the issue had nothing to do with our application.
-
@kurtk Hello, our developers solved the issue on Friday, now there should not be any further problems.
-
@graeme2812 Hello, I would recommend trying some additional software discussed in this category.
-
@graeme2812
Your best bet is to run WeeWX with the Interceptor driver to get data from your station. Then you'll need to install the Windy extension for WeeWX. I recommend reading the WeeWX wiki and github websites and also read and ask questions in the WeeWX Google user group. If you are not familiar with Linux then you'll have even more to learn. It isn't difficult if you put your mind to it. There is lots of help over in the WeeWX Google user group. I recommend running WeeWX on a Raspberry Pi. -
