Report your Weather Station Data to Windy
-
@TomSlavkovsky
stationId is listed a 32 bit integer but on the station information screen and on windy an ID is shown in what looks like hex.It's confusing for users who are configuring uploaders, they need to use an integer and that integer is not the id listed on the configuration page it's 0,1,...

@gearoid There are two things. The station ID which is public and the API key which is private. They are two different identifiers for different uses. You don't want your API key to be public. When you upload you do not use the station ID at all. The API key is all that is used to upload. Hopefully that clears up the confusion.

@galfert
Weewx's windy extension takes an ID as one of its inputs along with the API Key.
It's that ID that I was referring to, it's neither the public station id nor the API Key.
The info part parameters of the protocol at the top of this topic also lists astation
(alternative names:si
,stationID
) as one of the parameters. -
@gearoid Cumulus MX takes the station index too. The first you define is zero, the second 1 etc. I agree though that this information is not presented on your stations page, but they do seem to be listed in station ID order.

Where do I see the precip amount for a station?
-
@Praveen-Chandrasekaran
Unfortunately precipitation amount for a weather station is not available on Windy. -
Precipitation is the most widely followed data , any reason why it's not included?
-
Now you can send atmospheric pressure in following units:
pressure
- real number [Pa]mbar
- real number [milibar, hPa]baromin
- real number [inches Hg]

@mcrossley Hi,
0
means variable wind. Otherwise, 1˚-360˚ describes the wind direction. -
Hi there everyone,
Can anyone help me setup my Davis PWS. I am using Cumulus. I can't seem to figure out how to get the URL into cumulus.
Thanks in advance. -
@abbas72 Cumulus 1 does not support this feature. Cumulus MX does.
-
Apologies if it has been requested already, but, is it feasible to be able to send total rainfall?
-
You can now access the weather data using the GET method, see topic here.

Hi, I have Netatmo meteo station and I want to contribute to Windy, but there is no simple way to connect Netatmo to Windy tah I found. I dont have any server to push the data via some script or there is some other method? Please give me some help. Thanks.
-
still not having any success with this. Upgraded my Cumulus MX (Thanks Mark), redid the config, Windy reports no data.
Deleted the station, created a new one (just in case its the ever renewing API issue) but still no go.Still have a suspicion that it is to do with API.

@Swigman A mistake I have twice before is people trying to use a Windy download API. You need a station upload API as per the first message in this post. Make sure you are using the correct one. The station API keys are veeerrry long.
-
This post is deleted! -
@Swigman Hmm does look like a problem with the API key generation, pretty sure mine doesn't change every time. We need someone from Windy to chip in. One thought (may not be relevant) are you running an ad-block or denying cookies on the page?
-
@Swigman I deleted your post, it is not a good idea to post your keys publicly...

@notebooker I got a reply from Windy on twitter a couple of weeks ago. They are working on direct netatmo integration.
