Hate having to close the menus manually after selection

In the app, after we tap a menu selection, we really shouldn't need to have to also then tap the X. Or maybe there should be two menus, one for the instant items and one for the non instant items.

@jidanni however, what if the user wants to select other layer and also POIs? He would have to go twice into the menu.

Maybe have each item be a pair:
one to jump instantly, the other to stay on the menu, as is the current behavior.
