      Hi All!

Thank you so much for windy.com it looks really good on both mobile and desktop. I have however small issue that I need to address. I have developed a new site for a windsurf center and embedded your map directly with iframe. When I go to Google PageSpeed 99% of issues are related to windy embedd.

      Here are the results:

      https://gtmetrix.com/reports/bigblue-surfcenter.gr/YvO2IrfH

Is there an easy way to tackle that? Will it be any different if I use API?

      Thanks!

Does not look like any big problems.

Caching weather data to long period and serving latest is not possible.
Just faking it for some random analytics service is useless task.

Make this iframe "click to run" on mobile if you really care about performance.

          Google Maps: 54
          Windy Embed: 79

So Windy is much better than Google Maps...

I was looking for better solution but indeed maybe I can use browsershot to make a statin clickable map but it feels like not the proper solution IMHO.

You can lazy load Windy iframe if Google PageSpeed number is so important for you.

But Google PageSpeed is quite useless for feature rich applications.
Even Google's own products are rated very badly there.

@siim thank you very much for the answers. I understand that you do not care about google, you are free to do so.

I can of course lazyload, browsershot, delay loading etc but this is not the point. The point is that windy messes it up. My website is fine, windy iframe is not. I need to find the solution to the cause and not solution to the effects of it.

                  Thanks

Point is that Google PageSpeed test is useless for interactive data rich maps.

Even Google Maps scores very low in this test. 33% worse than Windy.
Did you make report to Google, that their Google Map messes up a lot of websites?

Windy is very fast compared to any other web map. You are just complaining about random test numbers.

Anyone who has more experience in web development knows that these Google PageSpeed numbers are useless.

                      Hi @siim,

Thank you again but your resources are not really valid. They all refer to people trying to achieve 100/100 on WordPress which by definition is something that is probably not even possible. My site is not based on WordPress and if I remove windy here is the score I get, which is what I expect from work I have put into it:

                      Screenshot 2019-06-01 01.29.21.png

@siim I get what you are saying, and I honestly would not care if it was WordPress or something else put together with glue. But you can clearly see where my issue is.

Here is the same after enabling windy iframe on homepage:

                      Screenshot 2019-06-01 01.33.20.png

It is really disappointing that no one from the team took time to respond to my question.

                      Have a great weekend.

Another rather important point on acceleration is optimization and compression of images on the site. You may manually optimize each picture (through Photoshop for example), or automatically (through special services). Here is an interesting article about it: https://optipic.io/en/blog/how-and-why-to-optimize-iamges-on-the-site/

@aurawindsurfing make a screenshot and serve it as an image and after a click replace it with the Windy iframe. This way you can please the Google rating.
