OK, that one sees thunder vs. lightning entries in the menu probably is done on purpose to separate two different data sets, but still seems odd.

"Radar, lightning" are observations (real time data).
"Rain, thunder(storms)" are forecast data (also include snow).
Although the scientifically correct term is "precipitation",
this is a word not widely understood.
