Windy launches Satellite layer
-
love the radar because it shows the way the earth looks from space so its a great idea to have the radar as an option with the inferred and inferred+!!!
-
I like it. I've been using it for a little while now, but when I went to Windy just now I discovered the infra and infra+ now I like it even more. Windy is my go to app for cycling. I check Windy in the morning before I ride, and I have it on my phone for during the ride. Thanks to Windy I do more riding than my friends who rely on the local weather guessers.

this is totally awsome

@ivo Works great and looks great on my iMac 27 5k. Thanks for all you do!
-
excellent!!!!!
-
Looks good to me.
-
Very Noice, Keep up the Awesome work :)

Question. I guess this is data from geostationary satellites?
Are you doing heavy recalculations for higher latitudes to correct for the low angel at high latitudes?
Or is the data raw from the satellite with the angel distortion? -
This is amazing! Guys Windy is becoming the new go-to place for all kinds of global weather information. keep up the excellent work!!
-
Absolutely awesome! The satellite layer could not have come at a better time for me. I live in Florida and have been in the projected path of hurricane Dorian. The hurricane looks stunning on the new layer -- especially on the 12-hour loop. I cannot believe that I can hold the power of the Windy app in the palm of my hand (Android). Thank you!

I really like the satellite image!
-
Spectacular add-on! Love it.

As a former pilot for the US Army, I appreciate the satellite view in a format easily understood by us with an aviation background.
- Has there been any consideration of adding 'Fronts' to the display ?
- Again - Thank You
-
@Bro-Nick
Windy visualizes only weather models data and these models are not able to draw fronts. They are drawn usually by meteorologists so there is no solution at the moment to display fronts on Windy. -
Superb. Meteorology at it's best. Thanks you.
-
Really super. Keep up the great work !
-
Amazing!!
We are hoping it does not turn inward (Northeast) New England
-
EXCELENTE!
-
This is excellent. It helps us quite a bit

The coverage of Dorian is fantastic. I found the buttons to push on the satellite view (radar and satellite to satellite to infr+ ) to get the video of the hurricane show on the Weather Channel. Keep up the great work.
