You might want to start on a specific location each time you use Windy. But remember that this setting works only if you are logged in.

There are several parameters you may choose from

      • Start-up location determined by IP
      • Using GPS
      • Choosing from locations saved as your favorites

      On desktop

Just click on the (hamburger) "Menu", choose "Settings" and look for "Start-up location" accompanied by a "house" icon. Then choose your preferred method from the drop-down list.

      On mobile devices

Could anyone explain what is vorticity advection and why it’s important?
I have a paper due on this topic and the internet is of little help. I don’t understand what positive and negative in the terms PVA and NVA imply and I’m having trouble generally understanding and visualizing the whole idea. Any help would be greatly apprecaited. :)

Some of my preferences do not appear to be saved in the cloud. I was able to create a Favorite location and save it. But, when I change the Start-Up setting to use the favorite location instead of IP address it only works until I close the tab. After closing the tab it reverts back to IP address the next time I visit the site, even though I did not log out. The Favorite location is still there but the Start-up location is based on IP.

I normally access the Internet through a paid VPN service and it is frustrating to have start up data from many miles away displayed.

I am using Firefox 68.0.2 on Mac OS X El Capitan (10.11.6).

            Thanks,
            Wally

Thank you for this. My app used to open to my chosen city but just recently started opening to a city 3 states away from my home location. I would rather use GPS locator so if I'm traveling, it will always open where I am currently located. Had to change it to my city so it would stop opening 3 states away.

Hello @chadmccullough, is it possible, that you have restricted the application to use your location on your device?
