    Why ECMWF WAM and Wavewatch 3 forecasts are so different?

      I am a lay person that uses Windy forecasts for navigation and I would like to have a basic understanding of the difference on the ECMWF WAM and Wavewatch 3 forecasts or on their parameters so I can apply what I am reading correctly. Could someone help me out? :)

          Hello, the difference is that WAM is based on data from ECMWF and WAVEWATCH3 is from NOAA.

                Yes you can use the predictions of weather models as shown on Windy to prepare a sailing trip for several days just a few miles off the coast ! Of course!
                The question was not about offshore navigation which leave you offline.
