India
In South and West India the toll stands at 169 dead in flood or rain-related incidents, according to local government
Kerala
The Indian state of Kerala has been particularly hard hit, with nearly half the reported deaths occurred in the south-western parts of the state.
Hundreds of thousands of people have been forced out of their homes by the monsoons and have taken refuge in 1,318 relief camps across the southern state of Kerala. Nearly 200 houses in the state were destroyed.

According to AP at least 17 people have died in Pakistan, including 7 people electrocuted and 3 others killed when a roof collapsed in the southern city of Karachi.

The destruction doesn't end, as the monsoon period stretches until September. Locals are busy rebuilding the houses destroyed in the first wave of the season, before more rains come.
