Northern Rivers Zone NSW RFS (Rural Fire Service) shared this aerial-view footage of a dust devil, that formed during the Northern Rivers Fires at Bungawalbin-Whiporie Rd. Below, you can watch the video, that was taken from Firebird 200 Iroquois UH 1-B on August 15th, 2019.
A dust devil is a strong, well-formed, and relatively long-lived whirlwind, ranging from small (half a metre wide and a few metres tall) to large (more than 10 metres wide and more than 1000 metres tall). The primary vertical motion is upward.
