Where is the current data sourced from? I am a navigation officer on a Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit currently in transit in the Caribbean Sea. The current speed/direction we are experiencing underway matches the data displayed on your website and has been a very helpful tool for us. I am curious where/how this information is gathered so that I am able to provide this feedback to our management team. Thank you in advance, we love your website!

Note that this prediction of currents is not accurate along the coasts. It does not take into account the tidal flow in the region where the tidal range is observable.
