<p dir="auto">However, could this be extended to show accumulated energy?  Hurricane Dorian parked itself over the Bahamas and the effect has been devastating.  3 days at wind speeds in three figures caused far more damage than a few hours.</p>
<p dir="auto">At a simple level, rather than plotting peak wind speeds cumulative wind speeds could be used, similar to cumulative precipitation which I imagine inspired wind accumulation in some way.</p>
