Love the new Windy Accumlation plot - very useful for storms showing peak windy speeds over several days.

However, could this be extended to show accumulated energy? Hurricane Dorian parked itself over the Bahamas and the effect has been devastating. 3 days at wind speeds in three figures caused far more damage than a few hours.

At a simple level, rather than plotting peak wind speeds cumulative wind speeds could be used, similar to cumulative precipitation which I imagine inspired wind accumulation in some way.

      Hope everybody is well! :)

An older post I know, but this idea would be useful for emergency management and akin to IKE (integrated kinetic energy), but instead of an area average at a given time, this would be kinetic energy integrated over time for a grid point.
