Best personal station to buy?
-
I want to buy a personal weather station for our spot. Hainan China.
I want to register it on windy, so I can see the real wind.
Please, advice for an affordable option. -
You want affordable and the best? Doesn't exist.
Pick two of these:
- Price
- Quality
- Service / features.
Price & Quality =
Acurite Atlas**
Price & Service / features = Ambient or Ecowitt or other FO clone
Quality & Service / features = Davis VP2** EDIT: March 2021..sorry I no longer recommend Acurite

Hi. i just purchased a acurite atlas (wifi) version. To be 100% sure this will be compatible with windy.com? thank u

@ejencalada I'm sorry...I posted that over a year and half ago. I no longer recommend nor do I care to discus the Acurite Atlas. The company in my view has failed to deliver what I feel is a competitive solution. And no, I will not elaborate why I changed my mind as you can find evidence in other weather forums. It is my opinion, and that is that. I'm sure you can get other opinions. Send it back and get something else...or keep it and good luck.

The best weather station is the Helix Pro from Barani : https://www.baranidesign.com/ -
@yves70 How is that anemometer on that Helix Pro? How often does the wind speed and gusts update?

@galfert
Anemo works well. Data are updates every 10 minutes with the anemo but also with the weather station. During the 10 minutes data continue to be acquired.Data from the anemo or the weather station are sent for free via the Sigfox network. Both anemo and weather station have photovoltaic cell so both are totally autonomous.
Be careful, anemo should be placed at 8m to avoid any interference. This recommendation is valid for any anemo, not specifically the anemo from Barani
