A tropical cyclone close to the Azores?
-
The satellite layer shows a cloud formation in the southwest of the Azores that looks like a tropical cyclone of relatively small size (130km) with a well-defined eye.
But it is surprising to see this tropical phenomenon in an extra-tropical depression (994 hPa) embedded in a trough extending from the Azores to the British Isles.
The global models do not see this cyclone, but the NHC forecasts 80% of formation chance.

Last NHC update: this small-scale and compact cyclone is now named Pablo, as Tropical Storm. It will passes over or near the Azores, bringing Strong winds.
