Trying to read Jaris article about Thermals the app crashes upon opening the article. Other weather news article work fine.
Android version is 16.
Any advice? What additional data you need for troubleshooting.

Thermal layer
Thermal layer is an excellent feature ! Thanks to the windy team for the effort.
- I use thermal layer with ICON-D2 model which gives an unprecedented granularity of the data. I understand ICON -D2 data are used to compute max climb altitude (AMSL). My experience flying a glider a consulting the thermal map is that the altitudes are far too optimistic and are rather 400-500m lower than computed. This can be evaluated and becomes evident when you crosscheck with barographic data of realworld flights of that day (WeGlide or OLC). Question, for calculation do you use simply Cumulus Condensation Level ?
- In overlay to thermal map I put airspace plugin. How can I change the line color of the airspace display to make is more visible?
- I changed the color scheme for altitude data. I would like to accommodate the color of the clouds for better visibility as well. How can I do this?
Best regards
Andreas

Sounding data and thermals
Comparing Windy vs Meteo Blue sounding data of ICON D2 model they look quite different . The inversion at approx 1500m does hardly appear in Windy plot. Are the ICON D2 sounding are plotted at lower resolution in Windy? The ICON D2 model has a unprecedented granularity for central EU, which allows a fantastic regional prediction of thermal altitude. Unfortunately above issue may lead to overoptimistic estimation of thermal heights as reported in the past by many users!
Thanks for consideration.

Wx radar image in windy app
Windy app version 41.1.2
On 24th Feb24, running the Weather radar loop what appears to be light rain (yellow) suddenly turned into a red CB cell with rain rate 648mm/h and with lightinig indications(see attached screenshot of 24.Feb24) ? There were more examples that day. I dont believe that this was real

Do you intend to make use of Googles graphcast ,AI based model in the future ?

RE: Thermal layer
Thanks for your reply. I did some further investigation, see attached screen shot. Pic shows a sample location for today 13h00 LT. Graphical estimation from sounding, ECWMF) gives a thermal high of about 1500m at 23°, CCL 2841m , windy computation 1900m. Meteoblue (sorry to mention concurring source) provides ICON-D2 sounding which let me to estimate approx 1000m. Now am a little puzzeled but from experience I think the later is more realistic.

RE: Thermal layer
@idefix37 Affirmative, the cloud (airspace borders - symbols on a light yellow, green background are hardy visible. What a pity !

Data time stamp mismatch
The display was wind map with pressure lines. I selected a location and scrolled to check the evolution in the future. The isobare picture changed as computed by the model. So everything fine. Now I changed to the actual sat picture which came up correctly. I like to see the pressure lines, so I selected them on, but what I got was not the acrual pressure lines but the pressure line according to the last selected time which I choose before on the wind page. Can be corrected by selecting whatever location and adjusting the time slider to the actual l time, but is very confusing at the first instance.
I am using Windyty, SE; © OpenStreetMap contributors

RE: Windy.com introduces soaring forecast
Excellent feature well done. To make it more usable for me I improved the resolution by choosing a more differentiated color scheme. The image includes wind information but not clear at which altitude. I assume ground level ?

Soundings in Android app
I run Android app version in 16.11.5 but long press does not offer the sounding option, whereas on windy. Com internet page it does?
Any advice is appreciate.
