I'm having exactly the same problem. Also on Sequoia. The widegets appear black or just the generic image when previewing the widgets to select. And once placed on the desktop, same thing. Have tried adding and removing, restarts, etc. For me, the only problematic widgets are the ones with one-hour forecasts (I'm on Premium). All the others are fine.
