I direct you to this American Map printer's statement about it:
It is the Gulf of Mexico to all countries that count.
The USA does not count. Trump is your moron.
Windy is not subject to moronic law.

I just went to https://24timezones.com/timezone-map to complain that they don't have the weather on their site. The fiends!
@Tomber42
Another site has this. It is potentially in digital form (after someone has drawn it) and can thus be obtained. Perhaps some data trading is in order?

See image. Change "lightnings" to "lightning".
Reported 13 days ago in general comments area as well.
Or even readings at measurement stations?
A favourite video:
Wish there were a 2018 edition.
I get this when I turn on the weather radar display sometimes, or at the end of a real time "play".

Should look more like:

Frankly, I'd prefer the raw Environment Canada data overlaid, such as:

And, please turn off lightning and sound as defaults!
When a location forecast bar is open, there is a preference for 1hr/3r resolution. (Premium users can select 1hr).
In the past I set my settings to remember my prior setting (which is always 1h) so that when re-opening Windy it would be set to 1 hour.
The setting to remember the preference is not retaining its setting.
This bug occurred about 6 months (or more) ago and was (apparently) fixed.
It's baaaaaaaaack.
Mac OS 26, Safari or Chrome (latest versions).
Thanks,

Title says it all. Amount sort of works (after currency conversion). But I want to be sure.
Thx.
In science, time is generally represented as left to right so the the display as is, is correct in that sense. This carries to things like video progression as well. My 2 cents.
@idefix37
Yes. And again today this happened.
Despite being in 1hr mode:
a) Came up in 3rd mode, and
b) the setting to start in previous mode was off again.
This is very strange.
SET AGAIN AS:

We'll see how it goes.

If you need to "navigate me to it" it is already a failure!
Used to be simple buttons on the screen (similar to the pressure isolines and particles animation.
BUT REALLY: THESE SHOULD BE OFF AS A DEFAULT.
In any case I finally found the buttons buried under the radar time slider.
First off, the option to show lightning flashes and make noise should be off as a default, and an opt in for those who want it.
Secondly, the buttons to turn this off seem to have been removed.

Linux is for servers, database, routers, other embedded systems and supercomputers.
It is not for desktop. It sucks at it. As long as there are many dozens of distros of Linux desktop - Linus desktop will suck a**.
Abandon Linux while you still have hope;
Just don't go to Windblows.

I set Windy to recall my 1hr/3hr setting in the location forecast bar. (Mac OS, Safari). I like it to always be at 1hr.
But the setting to recall that keeps getting set to off,
("Startup layer and location" settings).
So, I end up with the 3hr view every time I come back.
(Yes, I remain logged in; though that too sometime logs me out w/o being invoked).
This bug seems to come up within months of it being fixed.
@schilpat
Oy - right - setting it smooth works. Thanks.
(I get it... smooth interpolates (and extrapo?) between frames and future is extrapolation - same maths.)
But - All these obscurities make for bug reports I guess.
Cheers,

Mac OS Tahoe 26.0.1
Safari 26.0.1
This has been persistent for 2 months or more in Safari on Mac OS. (Prior version and current).
{another thing that doesn't work in Mac OS, + Safari is this comments section! I could not reply to your reply. Had to switch to Chrome}
With Chrome in Mac OS the radar lookahead function works fine.

When dragging radar forward in time, the predictor is not working. It stopped working about 2 months ago. (This is the 1h radar plot extrapolation).
(Safari on Mac OS [desktop]).
[ It works fine on iOS 26. ]
I reported it here about 2 or 3 weeks ago ... but can't find my report anymore.

Would be nice to have this back!
Thanks,
Beast.
