      @Benjamin-Conner-2

I direct you to this American Map printer's statement about it:

It is the Gulf of Mexico to all countries that count.

The USA does not count. Trump is your moron.

Windy is not subject to moronic law.

Another site has this. It is potentially in digital form (after someone has drawn it) and can thus be obtained. Perhaps some data trading is in order?

    • Minimal pressure at centre of intense low (Dorian). NOAA:916mbar; Windy:956mbar (MOD EDIT: Actual data vs Forecast data?)

Dorian is currently (as of this writing) reported as 916 mbar ("Minimum central pressure") by NOAA.
But on Windy, the centre is shown as 956 mbar. (Or a near to centre isobar?).

Is there a reason for the mismatch? Can this be improved? Windy intense lows are consistently reporting higher than 'official' source actual minimal lows.

References below: A) NOAA Dorian status for 1100UTC and B) Current Windy image for approx same time.

    • Weather Radar bug

I get this when I turn on the weather radar display sometimes, or at the end of a real time "play".
      2245ac8f-d6eb-4e94-a0c7-57b8a38e2232-image.png

      Should look more like:

Frankly, I'd prefer the raw Environment Canada data overlaid, such as:
      13601867-62c6-483c-b8fe-fc26e23d57b4-image.png

And, please turn off lightning and sound as defaults!

    • 1hr/3hr setting preference not saved

When a location forecast bar is open, there is a preference for 1hr/3r resolution. (Premium users can select 1hr).
In the past I set my settings to remember my prior setting (which is always 1h) so that when re-opening Windy it would be set to 1 hour.
The setting to remember the preference is not retaining its setting.
This bug occurred about 6 months (or more) ago and was (apparently) fixed.
      It's baaaaaaaaack.

Mac OS 26, Safari or Chrome (latest versions).

      Thanks,
      Beast

In science, time is generally represented as left to right so the the display as is, is correct in that sense. This carries to things like video progression as well. My 2 cents.

      @idefix37
Yes. And again today this happened.

      Despite being in 1hr mode:

      a) Came up in 3rd mode, and
      b) the setting to start in previous mode was off again.

      This is very strange.

      SET AGAIN AS:

    • Question about snow accumulation forecast

Is the accumulation amount for the 3 hours ending at that time. ie: at 10:00, 9 cm is forecast to fall between 7:00 and 10:00?

      Thanks.

PS: Finally occurred to me why the hours seem wonky until I factor in our time zone... (-5 UTC) as the 3 hour chunks are UTC 0:00 based.

    • Where is the forecast time ("timestamp"?) for model updates?

This may be too simplistic. I don't know.

    • RE: Sudbury, ONtario radar image not working for past and real time images

Strange that Sudbury isn't on there.

In the meantime, just use Environment Canada's site. The new presentation has a lot of sucky elements (ie: not north aligned except in the middle longitude of Canada. Make's St-John's esp whacky looking...). But does have transparency settings for the radar image. Also shows US radar down as far as Puerto Rico, but the map is missing south of Ohio latitudes.

(The iPhone app Env. Canada is correctly north up).

As to Windy, I've requested they add an option to present the weather radar 'raw' (as Environment Canada do), but that's been ignored. The current algorithm often drops the last image or has strange artifacts.

    • Moving Target Indicator (MTI) for radar; radar prediction

I would like to be able to "tag" a leading edge of a radar (rain/snow) and have:

      Speed
      Direction of travel (degrees true)

I would like the radar image to be "propagated" for up to 3 or 4 hours forward.
(1st order should be easy; 2nd order feasible).
