    • RE: Looking Back at 2024: A Year Full of Innovations and Milestones at Windy.com

Hi from Brixham in South Devon, England. I'm a big fan of Windy and use it regularly to decide where & when to go flying my paraglider or hang glider. The Sounding prediction for a specific location is extremely useful - and the UI on the phone app is a huge improvement, with the scrollable timeline. I use the Compare facility quite a lot to get a feel for the reliability of a forecast - if they differ widely then pick the one you like, but it may not be right!

One major concern I have is that the temperature forecast from the UK Met Office as reported by Windy for my location is significantly different to the forecast from the Met Office App, with the Met Office predicting frosty nights correctly, and Windy consistently forecasting higher temperatures incorrectly. This leads me to question whether similar errors might exist in other forecasts 🤔

    • RE: New sounding with radiosonde measurements

Thanks for the good work. Very impressive new graphics. As others have suggested, I'd like to see 2 updates to restore some lost functionality:

      1. "ft" scale rather than "m" when that is selected in settings
      2. Ability to scroll timeline in the mobile app.

    • Error in forecast temperature

Windy is consistently failing to give realistic overnight temperature forecasts for my location (Higher Brixham) and worryingly it is mis-reporting the UK Met Office forecast. e.g. the Met Office app is forecasting a minimum tonight of 0°C while Windy reports the Met Office forecast giving a minimum of 3°C. When we have experienced significant overnight frosts here NON of the forecast models, as reported by Windy, have predicted ANY frost. So, I have to conclude that there is a significant error in the way Windy is reporting data from ANY of the forecast models 🤔
