    • Feature request for lowest cloud layer

I would like to request a feature, prediction of lowest cloud layer.
As a VFR pilot, I can only see if there are low level clouds, 0-5.000ft.
And I can see cloud base, of 4/8-8/8 cloud coverage.

If you can show the prediction for the lowest cloud base, 1/8-8/8, that would be a welcome information for me.

That way I would be able to see at what altitude I can fly, without having to avoid clouds.

    • Radar layer on slow internet while flying

Please let radar layer and clouds and radar+
Load with a low resolution image and afterwards the full video.

When flying in a GA aircraft in Europe we don’t have AdsB weather. On a cross Europe flight, 4-5 hours when I start in the morning as the weather develops I would love to be able to see fresh radar images where the weather is.
      To avoid the worst rainclouds.

Up to 7500 feet I have some internet, EDGE sometimes sometimes 4G with one bar…
Of course as I fly I get in and out of range of gsm towers.

I am unable to load a big video.
If you load a single low resolution image first, for those who have terribly slow internet that is still valuable info.
Thoose who have fast internet will most likely not even notice the lo-res image before the full video is loaded and showing.

    • Feature request, isobars always showing

      Feature request.

I would like to ask for the posibility to set on the settings page that the isobars are always on when I start the webpage/program.
And to choose that I start up with clouds layer always.

I use Windy to look for VFR flight weather, the cloud layer with isobars, tells me much of what I need to know at a glance.
Clouds, rain, wind direction and speed.

Of course I can set tings up after starting the program, but it would be so much more user friendly if I dind't need to set it up every time.

      Other than that, superb application.

      Regards,
      Andreas

    • Feature request for cloud base

Cloud base (the helicopter symbol) is the hight of clouds AGL, of 50% or more coverage.
I am a VFR pilot, and although I legally can fly in 0-50% cloud coverage, I still need to stay clear of the clouds, preferably with a considerable margin, and it's practically not possible to zig-zag between the clouds with 200km/h speed if 50% of the sky is covered.

So for flight planing I can not use cloud base.
I do use low level clouds, that show me cloud coverage below 5.000ft AGL.

It would be really nice, if I could adjust cloud base to under 50%, say 0-5-15-30%
That way I would be able to use cloud base for what altitude I can expect to fly in - realistically.

Other than that, a wonderful site that gives a good overall view of the aviation weather.
I still use METAR and TAF just prior to departure, but for planing a few days ahead Windy is (almost) perfect.
