    • Regional Sun Hours and Overarching Wind Forecasts

      Hello everyone,

I operate a photovoltaic system with a large battery and source my electricity from a provider with dynamic pricing (in Germany, prices are notoriously high). During winter, the house battery remains largely unused due to limited sunlight, with only up to 20% of capacity being charged by the sun.

Through a workaround, I am able to purposefully draw power from the grid to charge the house battery. The system is claimed to have an efficiency of 98%, but, taking a cautious approach, I assume a worst-case scenario of 90%. Charging the storage becomes economically viable when the electricity price exceeds 6 cents, and price fluctuations throughout the day are significant.

I've automated this process to occur during the most cost-effective time window. Now, I just need to optimize the charging amount. Fully charging the battery at all times doesn't make sense, as I essentially give away excess electricity when the sun is shining. Therefore, I need information on the regional expectations for sun hours.

Simultaneously, it would be helpful to know the forecasted wind conditions on a broader scale in the upcoming days. A high wind forecast serves as an indicator that electricity will become very cheap two days from now, before the announcement of spot market prices. In this scenario, it would be wise to keep the house battery minimally charged the day before.

Hence, the question is: Which API provides reliable data for regional sun hours and overreaching wind forecasts?

It's crucial that sun hours are reflected on a regional level and wind predictions are available on a broader, overreaching scale.

      Fenix 6X Pro / Tactix Delta / Quatix 6X:

20 pixels make the difference. that's really sad. :(

I deliberately bought the smaller or “normal” version of the watch because I don't like such big “cases” on my wrist.

Yes exactly, I don't see what I could be doing wrong either.
The device is linked to my account. that should work in the end.
or is the offer also country-specific?

I own a Fenix 6 Pro. according to the Garmin IQ website, my watch is compatible. But why isn't the Windy app displayed in the IQ Connect app on the phone? Only the usual junk wet apps are displayed and how can you install the app?

@korina that may well be, but can't it be filtered away?
Other weather services (also rain radar) show this "disturbance".
If you live in the region, it's a problem.

Hello! As you can see this is the rain radar scan and sometimes that happens in my region too. It could be due to some issues of the data source, instead of a bug of Windy.. but it could also due to real rain that does not reach the ground because of different patterns of physical parameters, or due to high umidity to specific altitudes

This wedge comes constantly and always at this point.
Via the link you can reach the region the time times to 24h.
Every day the same picture The wedge comes and goes.

      Hello everyone.
Here in my region, the rain forecast does not work.

again and again, even when the sky is clear, a rain front is displayed.
how can this be filtered out?
