@idefix37 Why not add it to areas where it is available. I'd hate to not be able to use it in the USA just because the rest of the world doesn't have it.

Bumping this topic. This is a basic necessity.

    • Models Enhancements

I'd love to be able to view the 6-hr average precip rate, MSLP, 1000-500mb Thickness model product. Not sure the best way to implement this but it would be super nice to have. Also the ability to select a default model. For example, the option to select a different model (or the most recently updated model) automatically rather than ECMWF being the default and having to change it every time.

@idefix37 I've created this color scale if you're interested.

@idefix37 I was under the impression that if it wasn't a constant color step, the data wouldn't display properly. My apologies for the misinterpretation.

Also when you view the weather warnings product. Tornado watches show a thunderstorm icon. I'd love for this to be a tornado icon to decipher the difference.

So the scale has to be consistent from start to finish? That's kind of disappointing. Why doesn't windy just follow the imputed values rather than forcing a consistent step? Many color tables (especially radar reflectivity) don't use a constant step scale. See a few of my custom color tables here. I'd also love to see the ability to create non-smoothed color tables.

@Bryant-Almany I'm interested about this, would you have any examples of other websites using precipitation types with their radar?

Here are 3 different radar software, all have precip type detection.

      GRLevelX

Also almost every weather website utilizes precip type radar.
      The Weather Channel
      AccuWeather
      Weather Underground
      WeatherBug
      Zoom Earth

Super important function (along with severe watches/warnings overlays)

This is something that is holding windy back from other weather apps. This is a crucial feature that almost every other app has. I'm not sure why it hasn't been added yet.

@Bradam123 I'd love a severe watch/warning overlay option as well. The Weather Warnings layer is fine, unless you're tracking certain storms via radar.
