Hi everyone the Thai met departement seams to have its models available if you guys want to add it to windy for local model with higher res https://data.tmd.go.th/dataset/index.php

THAI weather data available

RE: AROME 1.3 km will be back
I get the 2.5Km version has more parameters but why the sudden change and why not keep both and give the better resolution on the available parameters ?
Also why no info on this guys ?(it would be nice to comunicate a bit ) -
RE: Need Precip types for Radar
@idefix37 technicaly as long as they are dual pol yes
but is the data available?
i know for france the windy team wanted the global radar image in HDF5 rather than each radar Raw data in a BUFR (coded like crap as guys are still trying to decode it ) -
RE: Radar slider
@idefix37 Im not a native english so im not sure i got the end of your message 100% si i will rephrase
With the opening of more data are now available.--AROME-PI is a nowcasting model with the same domain as AROME-FR it uses the last available run of AROME-FR to get the initial info with the in situ info from radars ground station and plane + radiosondes but no satelite data is ingested data is ingested from H-10 to H+10 it has a 15 min step and runs all the way to H+6
Info in french HERE--PIAF is a Rain rate model it has a 5 min step runs every 5 min all the way to H+3 it uses the lastest available AROME-PI run and also uses PANTHERE radar image
it is a image that is corrected with all the rain gauge available to have a corrected RR over france
both are input
info (in french ) HEREi dont know if any are a good adition to Windy but as you guys are building a prediction section in the radar image it would be a good idea to add what is already run and accurate as it would only add value over france in the prediction section

RE: Radar slider
@Suty Yeah i meant what was the process on your end and then giving out the info that MétéoFrance opened a lot of data including this forecast model for Rain Rate that is more or less what you did your side but the data is derived from radars observation and the last run of AROME-PI (Immediate forecast )and then runs into the future at 5 minutes interval for the folowing 3 hours and run every 5 minutes
@idefix37
Yeah quite a lot of data is now public and reusable
got a topic referencing all about it right Here -
RE: Radar slider
@Suty If you guys want for france there is a model that does the exact thing
https://portail-api.meteofrance.fr/web/en/api/PrevisionImmediatePrecipitations
could be a interesting idea to grab the data from there -
RE: Enhanced Access to Météo-France Data and Forecasting Models
@Filip_K
Hi sorry to bother again firstly Arome OM is also run for PolynesiaSecondly would you guys want to add all the french weather stations its quite substatial
it covers france realy well
also via the API -
RE: Enhanced Access to Météo-France Data and Forecasting Models
@Filip_K Hi again i clearly understand using the 500m HDF5
the BUFR missing tables has been reported and issue is being sorted.Do you know if any models are being considered by the windy team ?
-
RE: Enhanced Access to Météo-France Data and Forecasting Models
@Filip_K Hi the community is having trouble to use the raw data as tables are missing and some files are difficult to decompress just letting you know guys sent an email and will keep you up to date
-
RE: Enhanced Access to Météo-France Data and Forecasting Models
@Filip_K wow indeed this will be a big bump in radar info (maybe even posible to make a velocity product with the raw data per radar)
-
RE: Enhanced Access to Météo-France Data and Forecasting Models
Hi @Filip_K as a question what was the data source as of now on windy for france and what was the estimated resolution of the data ?

Enhanced Access to Météo-France Data and Forecasting Models
Hello,
To celebrate the New Year, Météo-France has expanded its open data offerings, significantly improving access to previously available datasets.
Firstly, climatological data from stations throughout France is now accessible via meteo.data.gouv.fr
Models:
ARPEGE: This robust global forecast model is now accessible through the API: https://portail-api.meteofrance.fr/web/en/api/PaquetARPEGE
Integrating ARPEGE into Windy would provide users with an additional global forecasting option.AROME: This excellent model is currently available on Windy but only for continental France. Expanding its availability to French overseas regions could enhance forecasting capabilities. Access the data at: https://portail-api.meteofrance.fr/web/en/api/AROME
AROME-PI: An extension of the AROME model, AROME-PI updates hourly in 15-minute increments, available from H+35 to +6H. For immediate forecasting needs, this model would be highly beneficial to add to Windy. More information can be found at: https://donneespubliques.meteofrance.fr/?fond=produit&id_produit=259&id_rubrique=42
and the data at: https://portail-api.meteofrance.fr/web/en/api/AROME-PIStatistical field for ARPEGE: Access it here: https://portail-api.meteofrance.fr/web/en/api/DonneesPubliquesStatsPEARPEGE
WAVES MODEL: You can find Météo-France's wave model at: https://portail-api.meteofrance.fr/web/en/api/WavesModels
PIAF: This precipitation model updates every 5 minutes for the following 180 minutes, using radar and raingauge data at 1km resolution. Incorporating PIAF into Windy could be advantageous. More details can be found at: https://portail-api.meteofrance.fr/web/en/PrevisionImmediatePrecipitations/documentatio , and the data at: https://portail-api.meteofrance.fr/web/en/api/PrevisionImmediatePrecipitations
RADARS:
France's radar data is available as a composite image over the country at 1km or 500m resolution. Raw data access is provided through the API at: https://portail-api.meteofrance.fr/web/en/api/DonneesPubliquesRadar
On a personal note, there's a high demand among users for more high-resolution regional models on Windy. As a fellow Windy user, I'd greatly appreciate the inclusion of these models, as they simplify forecasting, especially during times of uncertainty.
Best regards,
-
RE: Arome update
@Mathieu-Gervais météociel has a direct link to MF and windy pumps a miror server so it takes more time due to MF way of dealing with "Open data" its about to be solved on the 2nd of january

RE: Arpège
Hi all,
i wanted to know what where the implications of adding new models(financialy and technicaly )?
As Météofrance are going nearly all open data (at least on some of therre products ) it would be pretty cheap to add Arpège (or no cost for the acquisition of the data ) -
StatIC weather station in France and EU
Hia the mods i wanted to let u know that In France there is a non-profit that runs a lot of weather stations all over the country (https://www.infoclimat.fr/cartes/stations-amateurs.php )
with standards and maybe u could get a use out of getting the dataout of line but i think it would be useful to get an observation page where we could see all observed parameters by stations on the ground
any way have a great day
