PLEASE drop the crown on your logo on the Android app. It's cheesy, and degrades a product which by any measure punches way above its weight. You have the best app, the world knows it, and the crown is just unnecessary bragging and cheapens the value of the fine work you've done.

    • RE: Windy is more difficult to use now!

I agree. The old software industry adage applies here: "If it's not broken, don't fix it!". It's now massively complex, far too difficult to navigate, and the old UI was easy and fast to use, and simple to hide elements that weren't of use. And this new version is buggy and slow and should still be in beta - too many issues for me to bother listing them. Did you do any focus groups for feedback on this UI design? Or a beta program?

Windy, do what Microsoft have done with their new Outlook design which they recognise is not for everyone - give us the opportunity to switch back to the old UI if this isn't for us. I'm now using Windy far less, and will surely downgrade my sub or look for something that does the job for me in the near future. I love Windy - but Windy no longer loves me.🥺

      Galaxy S23 Ultra, Android 13.

    • RE: Thailand down again!?

Your Bangkok radar coverage is non-existent! As the other member mentioned, this is the peak monsoon for us in Thailand, and September is our wettest month. We NEED to know what's coming.

Compare the Government radar to yours - there is no comparison! https://weather.tmd.go.th/bma_nck.php

Windy us becoming massively unreliable since you turned your focus to a new unwanted UI instead of delivering a fine dependable product.

    • RE: Thailand weather radar is gone

@William-Ridsdill Lads, there's a new app called Zoom Earth, which has accurate Thailand radar overlaid on maps. Not quite as fancy and feature-packed as Windy, but at least it's reliable. Ondrej seems to be a one-man-band at Windy, and though he works hard it's now gotten away from him I think. Having no Thailand radar, when both TMD and Zoom Earth have it, suggests a bigger problem with Windy. And all Ondrej can say is that it's someone else's fault. Not good enough.

@Korina Are you aware that in the Samsung Galaxy store (for Wear OS apps) there is another Windy app made by a guy named Farouq Omer. His app logo looks deceivingly like the real Windy branding. I can't attach a screenshot for you, but happy to send one if you email me.

@Ondřej-Šutera Your Bangkok radar is certainly not working properly. The two screenshots below show yours (I'm the blue dot) with no rain around me, and the Thai Weather Burea radar showing a storm on top of me. Time 13:13 UTC (7:13pm in Thailand).

@Suty Thanks for the quick reply. Here's a wider shot that might help them. I don't think that this is coming off the government radars at Nong Chok or Nong Khame.

@Suty Thanks Suty, but I managed it by canceling my Subscription and then resubscribing using a Thailand payment instead of Australia. All is well and I'm back enjoying Windy - without doubt the most-used app on my phone, and now on the phones of my many friends too. I'm glad you got away from Fastspring - they were a nightmare :).

    • RE: Thailand weather map not working

@Ondřej-Šutera How about getting a new source? The Government radar works fine. See https://weather.tmd.go.th/bma_nck.php for Bangkok, and it has drop downs top-left for the rest of the country. This data overlaid on Windy maps would be perfect.

Could someone please check Thailand weather radar? As you can see from this screenshot, it's showing a kind of sweep and nothing is accurate.

    • Bangkok radar showing ghost rain again

Suty, could you please check your Bangkok radar again? (12:19 UTC)

You're showing rain right across Bangkok, but it's dry.

There are a few small rain cells showing on the Government radar at: https://weather.bangkok.go.th/Radar/RadarNongkam.aspx
....but nothing like what you're showing.

The blue dot on your screenshot is where it says BKEN on the Government radar centre-right on the light coloured section which is Bangkok. No rain.

      Thanks
      Colin

    • Can't pay you!! HELP???

@suty Folks, when are you going to get rid of Fastspring and use a payment service that has some logic built into it. I forgot to update my payment method so my payment was rejected; but after adding a new payment method and canceling my subscription because Fastspring wanted to hang on to my old credit card details and keep billing an expired card (THREE TIMES), I now can't re-subscribe to Premium - which expired yesterday.

Fastspring just goes around in circles, sending me more and more email with links that aren't relevant and won't let me pay you. It's impossible to either reactivate my Premium sub, or to resubscribe! Let me know when you get a payment system that works and I'll gladly give you my money! Really, Fastspring is the worst of the worst!

      @Suty Screenshot_20241002_180153_Windy.jpg Screenshot_20241002_180334_Windy.jpg

      Hi Suty,

I hope this helps. The top pic shows the panel losing pixels at the top as it slips off the screen, because it has more items pinned (I randomly added them just to show the effect). The bottom is looking "normal" with just 5 items. It would be helpful on a mobile if the window stayed the same size as in the bottom pic, or perhaps even a bit smaller, or even with smaller thumbnails, with a scroll-down sidebar if there were too many items to fit in the window as is. Just a suggestion.

      Cheers,
      Colin

    • Pinned item panel now jammed top-left of the screen on Android

Devs, is there anything you can do about this? In recent weeks I've noticed that my pinned items are now jammed top-left, even to the point of some pixels running off the screen. I don't recall it being like this previously but correct me if I'm wrong; and it might be because I added some extra pins. At 7 it's a good size, at 11 items it's "jammed".

It would be good to be able to manually position this overlay on the screen of a particular size, and have that remembered, and if there are too many "pins" scroll through them in that same sized block. Thanks.

    • RE: Thailand/Bangkok radar incorrect

@Filip_K Thanks Filip. That would be perfect. Nongchok and Nongkhame are very accurate, though there are occasions where, for some reason only known to them, the Government will switch one of them off for a few days. But if you're combining both we should be fine.

I didn't know there was radar operating at Sattahip. There must also be good aviation radar operating at U-Tapao airport (military, but slated to become another international airport to serve Pattaya), so perhaps that's what's causing the Sattahip problem because they'd be almost on top of each other.

    • RE: Thailand/Bangkok radar incorrect

@Filip_K Thanks Filip. I don't know if anyone is working right now, but the problem still exists. You're showing storms all around Bangkok but there's nothing. I've looked all all the other Government stations with reach to Bangkok but they're all clear except Hua Hin.

Hua Hin radar is showing storms and it looks like you're still overlaying them on Bangkok. Got a chance to check it now? Cheers.
