David here, SV AT FIRST SIGHT, presently docked near Cádiz, Spain, preparing for our transatlantic passage west starting in a few days to a week or so, weather permitting.

I’ve been using the Windy Pro (blue) app for most of the time we’ve been in Mediterranean Europe. Does it have a vessel routing feature similar to the online version of Windy through FastSeas.com?

As I’m sure you know, when using FastSeas, one can enter a start point and an end point, and a few performance conditions and vessel parameters, and FastSeas will calculate and suggest the optimum route.

If the Windy Pro app does something similar, I haven’t figured out how to do it. Please advise.

Re: iridium Go

Does Windy have plans for becoming compatible for use with Iridium GO and other satellite devices? An alternative might be compatibility with HF/SSB downloads via a Pactor modem.
The (blue) Windy Pro app is the best weather app we’ve seen for coastal weather assessments and routings when mobile signals are available, but it cannot support offshore, blue water operations. At least not that we know of.

This would be great addition to the service. Thanks.
