    • RE: Widget on Android

Not sure if this is directlyrelated, but I also have issues on a similar configuration (android 11/samsung).

In my case, the widget displays fine but is showing network (geoip) location as current location not the GPS location. When I refresh the widget, it displays the correct location and weather. Any chance someone is updating the widget / android code recently?

@Polina-Nozdrina I'm a sailor, hiker, and one time pilot so I've used a lot of weather apps. Windy is my go to weather app today, and I'm impressed with how the team continues to push hard to make it better. Congrats to the team!

    • RE: NOAA's AIGFS model

@Canne agreed. There are other recent releases of other ai weather models as well, including from Google (weather next), ecmwfs ai model, and a hybrid ai gfs model (hgefs).

I think the euro may already use their ai model for extended range forecasts.

I'm also curious what the plans are to make these new models available in windy. They have shown higher track accuracy for major storms, and here in the US I'm unsure if the maintenance of the existing gfs model is what it once was.

    • RE: Popup at start

@Ondřej-Šutera the best way to do this notification is to impression limit the modal message. E.g. show this notification one time per user, or show this to each user once per week for two weeks. I see this at every app startup on Android... Pretty frustrating!

    • RE: GPS Error

I have the same issue and am also using Android 11 and the most recent version of the windy app. I've checked gps permissions as well

This worked fine until a couple of weeks ago, i think this is a regression in the android app
