What it says on the tin. Currently there's no way to select a default forecast model that works regardless of how the app was started or which layers have previously been viewed.
I therefore propose a setting to specify a default model.

@idefix37 Sorry I assumed you are affiliated with the project. With “you” I meant the windy project, not you personally. Miscommunication on my side. I'm thankful for your quick replies, don't get me wrong.

TLDR: No, it's currently not possible and is not planned.
So to sum it up: on 2024-05-05 you considered supporting it: “we will have support in the mobile apps at some point”.
And on 2024-12-03 you suggested that this functionality is not coming: “there is no plan to implement external plugins to our mobile version.”

I don’t think it does. At least not when i try!
Thanks for confirming. That's in line with what I read online.
So currently there seems to be no way to set the default forecast model.
@idefix37 I just checked and indeed, it's the airspaces plugin. Actually I didn't even know windy has plugins or that I installed such.
Too bad it's not available in the app. Is it planned to be implemented in the mobile app as well?
The browser app has a feature to display airspaces. However, I can't find it in the mobile app. How to show airspaces in the mobile app?
This setting requires a subscription account. So that mean I have to pay to set the default model?
However if you look at Weather radar or Satellite it comes back to the default model
This sounds like a bug to me. If I select a default it should respect it and not revert back.
and in some case when using widgets at startup.
In fact I mainly use the widget to start Windy.
I'm a bit unsure if paying for the subscription really solves the issue.
Can someone with a subscription account confirm that seetting “Use last overlay” indeed works when Windy is opened using the widget with the radar screen as startup layer? So the steps are basically: change the default model from ECMWF to e.g. ICON. Close Windy. Open Windy via the widget → default display is the radar screen. Then select e.g. the wind layer and confirm it's still set to ICON rather than ECMWF.
Hi,
I use windy version 43.0.4 and cannot find a way to set the default forecast model. I can manually set it to any model but it always keeps reverting to ECMWF once I change layers or reopen the app.
Any hints appreciated.
