I’ve seen this mentioned before but it could use attention. This app is nearly perfect.
I see the option to set a default location and map type. But there is no default zoom level. Requiring me to zoom multiple times.
Is there any plan to add this option in the future? Anyone else feel the same?
I love this app. Definitely missing the ability to change the default startup zoom.
OK so I think I’ve actually figured something out. This works on my iPad app and iPhone app. If you hold down on the home icon for about two seconds, it will determine your location and zoom in to a radius of like 75 miles which is perfect for me actually.
The default zoom is usually like 1000 miles requiring you to pinch to zoom several times.
With that being said, if your location is not on, that probably won’t work for you.
This 100% solves, my issue of having to zoom in on my location every time I start up. It is not a default action, but a workaround that works for me. Hopefully this helps some others.
The behavior is pretty straightforward. Anytime I exit the app or force close the app, when it is reopened, it is not to the default startup layer.
This happens on my iPad Pro, which is on the latest version of software as well as my iPhone 16 Pro Max, which is also up-to-date on the software.
As far as set up of the default behavior, when you go into the settings menu down at the bottom, I choose startup layer and location. it gives the option to choose start up layer. The startup layer seems to always default to satellite even though I have it set to radar+

I have my default Start-up layer set to Radar + but will always default to weather radar, or satellite.
Any fix for this? Even if it is that the weather radar it will still sometimes default to satellite.
